Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart are arguably one of pop culture’s greatest unlikely pairs. The platonic BFFs first met backstage at David Letterman‘s The Late Show back in 2008, and have since appeared on TV game shows together, as well as cooked together. Now, the dynamic duo is getting their own weekly television series inspired around the latter.
Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party will be premiering in the fall on VH1, Variety reports. The series will have Snoop and Stewart hosting their celebrity friends for food, drinks and unscripted conversations.
“At our dinner party, we will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining and celebrity,” Stewart said in a statement. “Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party will redesign the traditional food competition shows in a new, different and very funny way.”
“My homegirl Martha and I have a special bond that goes back,” added Snoop Dogg. “We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together!”
It’s safe to say that there will probably be a lot of weed references made throughout the show, but hopefully it’ll just shed even more light on Snoop and Stewart’s awesome friendship. Maybe they’ll even have catchphrases or something, like the ones we’ve provided below.
“Snoop, this isn’t oregano!”
“Martha put on your oven mitts before you…drop it like it’s hot (winks at the camera).”
Aside from Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party, the West Coast rapper is also executive producing a scripted, weed-themed comedy called Mary + Jane, which will premiere in September on VH1’s sibling network, MTV. The show follows two “millennial ganjapreneurs” who are trying to carve out a niche for themselves in Los Angeles. Snoop performs the theme song for the TV series, and will pop up during the show’s run.
