In the months since Kanye West unveiled his work-in-progress seventh studio album The Life Of Pablo, one artist has stood as a major benefactor through the transitive properties of being incorporated in a Kanye record. That artist, 19-year-old Brooklyn rapper, Desiigner, whose debut single “Panda” was interpolated by West on “Pt. 2,” has rocketed to the top slots of the charts on the shoulders of “Panda” alone, going platinum just a few months later. To this day, you can’t walk four steps without hearing those searing strings rumble out of trunks far and wide. Today, the song is treated to a dizzying visual treatment that, despite it’s name, features no actual pandas.
To be clear: “Panda” is not and will likely never be considered a great song, with or without the Kanye West co-sign. But boy, oh boy, does that beat knock. Watch the chaotic debut visual from Desiigner down below and hold tight to see if the Bed Stuy rapper can follow-up this hit with anything worth paying attention to.
